Present your artistic project
CEF - Centro de Experimentação da Fotografia, Casa-Museu Jaime Umbelino and Núcleo Aqui Há Gato, in Foz do Arelho, receive applications from artists and collectives interested in integrating their exhibition program.Through this program, the F/SOS Association promotes contemporary artistic creation, photography, visual experimentation and dialogue between art, heritage, memory, territory and community.We seek original projects, with their own identity and artistic, cultural or educational relevance, particularly valuing proposals that establish a relationship with Foz do Arelho, Lagoa de Óbidos, the ocean, the coastal landscape and environmental issues.Applications are open throughout the year. There are no application or exhibition fees.

CEF – Photography Experimentation Centre
Dedicated to contemporary photography, documentary practices, visual experimentation and interdisciplinary projects that explore new languages and possibilities of image.
Jaime Umbelino House-Museum
A space for dialogue between contemporary art, memory, heritage and local identity. Projects that establish relationships with the history of the house, the museum collection and the territory of Foz do Arelho are especially welcome.
Core Here There is Cat
Dedicated to artistic projects related to animals, biodiversity, ecology, environmental conservation, animal protection and the relationship between humans and other species.

Who can apply?
Individual artists and artistic collectives, national or international, from different areas and paths can present proposals.
Applications will be evaluated taking into account artistic quality, conceptual coherence, originality, technical feasibility, suitability for the chosen space and cultural and community interest of the project.
What should the application include?
The proposal shall include:
Identification and contacts of the artist or collective.
Intended exhibition space.
Title and synopsis of the project.
Artistic declaration.
Representative portfolio.
Curriculum vitae.
Images of the proposed works and respective technical sheets.
Technical and spatial needs.
Relationship of the project with the chosen space or territory.
Proposal for a work or element to be integrated into the institutional collection.
The technical files shall indicate, where possible, the title, year, technique and dimensions of the works. The sale value is optional.
Conditions for participation
The use of exhibition spaces is free of charge and no commission is charged on any sales of works.
The exhibitions will normally last between 15 and 60 days, according to the schedule and availability of the spaces.
The selected artists should contribute to the institutional collection with a work, edition, photographic print, artist's book or other representative element of the project. The part will be defined in advance, by written agreement with the managing body, in accordance with the regulation.
The artists are responsible for the assembly and dismantling of their exhibitions, in coordination with the team responsible for the spaces. Proposals for the House-Museum must fully respect the permanent collection and historical integrity of the building.
How to apply
Fill in the application form and submit the necessary elements for the assessment of your project.
Proposals will be examined by a selection committee composed of representatives of the F/SOS Association, the Foz do Arelho Parish Council and an external guest curator.
Submission of an application does not guarantee selection. The results will be communicated in writing and the selected projects will be integrated into the programming according to the availability of the spaces.
